Every year in Belgium, a part of the Ostend beach is transformed into a fantasy world made out of sand sculptures. Artists from different countries create all kinds of figurines, buildings and decors in a certain theme. Last year’s theme was Disney, pretty neat Disney sand castle, eh? You can’t tell by this picture but the sculpture is about three meters high! This year the pieces of sand art are all about ‘stars’: national and international legends in movies, music and sports. Hurry up and go get that selfie you always wanted with Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Justin Timberlake or our very own Belgian Red Devils or Stromae. And then of course there are the immortal stars like David Bowie, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Prince, Elvis Presley and Freddie Mercury. Like Madame Tussauds, but with sand instead of wax!
