Hint: almost 12.000 soldiers are buried here

Tyne Cot Cemetery - Ypres (c) Westtoer apb

Welcome in Tyne Cot in Passendale, near Ypres. It’s largest British war cemetery on mainland Europe. 11.956 soldiers of the British Commonwealth that lost their lives during the First World War are buried here, together with a number of German prisoners-of-war who died in Allied hands. The cemetery was designed by a British architect from Kent and revealed in 1927. Nearly half a million people visit the cemetery every year.
